Winter Wonder Workers

July 25, 2017

I know I know, we are well into winter and this post may be a little late. But I don’t think thats the case, hence why I’m posting it. For some strange reason this year, the winter dryness has hit me much later than usual. Winter also gifted me with the worst viral infection I have ever experienced in my entire life. I kid you not, I felt so sick I asked Ben to smother me with a pillow. Dramatic I know, but my body felt like it was decomposing. I digress, let’s get into my top picks to get yourself through these last few wintery weeks.

Dry Lips

Every single year I struggle with this, and I’m not being a drama queen. During the summer months I love to use old school Lip Ice. It works great and has some awesome flavours. But this year, winter seemed to hit my lips hard (no dirty jokes ladies). I was lucky enough to win a Letiblam hamper from Tanya from Rattle And Mum. I had seen Letibalm pop up on my Instagram feed, but never took the leap. Reason being is 98% of lip balms actually make my lips more dry and then they peel and it basically defeats the point. But the day I tried Letibalm, my lips felt super soft and no discomfort. I decided not too get too excited, but it’s been over a month now and my lips are still soft as a babies bum!

Face Care

My faves for my face in the winter months is definitely the Oils Of Life Sleeping Mask from The Body Shop. I received this as a gift last year and I’ve already repurchased it. I absolutely love how thick and luxurious it feels. You wake up with your skin feeling nourished and super hydrated. Just avoid the eye area, if it’s sensitive like mine, you could experience a stinging sensation. Then for day time I have been OBSESSED with the Avene Hydrance Optimale Serum which I have yacked on about constantly. If you are looking for a day time serum that not only hydrates the skin, but is a fantastic base for your foundation, highly highly recommend. I hate when my skin gets so dry in winter that my foundation clings to the dry patches, so I use this and my makeup looks dewy and healthy.

Shower Care

You knew this one was coming, since my first post I have fallen even more in love. I am talking about Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner. I’ve upped my usage of this baby to 3 times a week now. I’ve also come up with a handy little hack. If you’re wanting a nourishing exfoliant, mix some coffee grounds or some sugar with an equal part of Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner. It will leave your skin super soft whilst moisturising your skin at the same time. Killing two birds with one stone, one very nourishing stone.

Hand Care

My phalanges have been thanking me for the love I have been showing them with the Avene Cicalfate Hand Cream. If you haven’t read my in-depth post, the just of it is that this cream is fantastic for anyone who struggles with chapped, dry or eczema prone skin. I know this because my hands used to be covered in eczema. I pop this baby into my handbag and anytime I notice my hands resembling those of a t-rex, a little pea sized amount goes a loooooooong way. Plus if you have a super dry or eczema inflamed area, just concentrate a small amount on that specific area.

Foot Care

People rarely realise the great opportunity that Winter affords us in the form of foot pamperage. You could literally put foot cream on each morning, plop on a pair of socks and you have a little oven to bake your cream into your feet. My go-to, especially since I run everyday, is the Pedi Relax Regenerative Cream. I’ve tried plenty foot creams in my day, and this one takes the cake. Even my dad who has bigger cracks in his feet than the Kimberly hole, his feet are starting to look presentable.

There you have it my dolls, my round up of the best products you can use to make your skin happier with you during the last few winter months. Would you guys be interested in my hair care winter favourites?

Until next time…

  1. Yay now I can show my hubby this post so he knows im not talking nonsense when I say lip balms and most lipsticks actually leave my lips feeling worse and peeling.

    1. 100% true!!! Do you know that half the time I buy lipsticks and can’t wear them because my lips dry out! Letibalm is honestly honestly honestly the BEST lip balm for out lip problems, promise you! And it smells great! I actually love the paediatric version the best!
