Do you remember when you were little and you got that certain type of Christmas feeling around this time of year? Do you also remember the first year that someone rudely stole that feeling from you? I do, it was when I was 17 and all of a sudden, the Christmas spirit was a lot less strong than it used to be. As the years have gone on, I’ve celebrated Christmas, but that feeling vary rarely returned. If it did, it burnt way less brightly than it used to. So this year, the best and I decided we would change that. We plan to attend as many Christmas themed events that we can. So obviously I had to share them with you guys. I will update as I get more info on events, so keep an eye on this post!
Christmas Village – Monte Casino (29 Nov-3 Dec)
To start the festivities, you can head over to Monte Casino. With over 50 stalls, a kid friendly environment and 5 movies being screened, this one is sure to get things off to a great start!
Christmas Weekend – The Stables – (1st-3rd December & 8th-10th December)
Moonlight markets, carols by candlelight and Sunday markets are whats on offer here. Get yourself into the festive cheer! Grab a blanket and your faves and head off to Chartwell for two weekends of Christmas cheer.
Drive In Christmas Special – Huddle Park – 2nd December
Oh how I miss the drive-in, one of our first dates was at the drive-in…I now sound like Rose from Titanic reminiscing. Anyway, if drive-ins are more your vibe, why not head out to Huddle Park for a kid friendly experience. Two movies on offer and drinks and snacks available, sounds like the perfect night out.
Wanderers Christmas Market – Wanderers Stadium – 1st-4th December
Now’s your chance to get that Christmas shopping done. Why not head off to Wanderers and have a wander (I’m sorry I can’t help myself) around to find the perfect gift.
Carols By Candlelight – Wanderers Stadium – 3rd December
While you’re at Wanderers why not stick around for their Carols by Candlelight performed by the Sandton Choir. Father Christmas will be making an appearance. The best part? Carol goers are asked to bring a gift for a child to donate to the organisers chosen charity.
Christmas Night Market – Fourways Farmers Market – 9th and 16th December
Fourways Farmers Market has always been a fave of mine, and I absolutely love their night markets. They will be hosting two Christmas night markets this year that are not only family friendly, but pet friendly as well! As usual there will be live performances, carols and generally awesome festive cheer.
CLAW Christmas – Walkhaven Dog Park – 2nd December
We all know I’m an obsessive animal lover, so when you can combine Christmas and collecting money for animals, I’m all about it.
SPCA Movies Under Moonlight & Market – Morning Hill Country Club – 8th&9th December
This for me in the trifecta of happiness. Christmas, animals and The Grinch (fave Christmas movie ever!). Friday nights movie will be The Holiday and Saturday will be The Grinch. Why not take a bag of dog food with you and help a little furry friend this Christmas.
Until next time…
